Scarlett Johansson, the acclaimed actress known for her role as Black Widow, recently made her directorial debut with the American drama
Eleanor the Great, written by Torey Kamen. Despite this milestone, Johansson remains uncertain about pursuing directing as a long-term career path.

In a recent interview with Collider, the 40-year-old star shared her honest thoughts about her future behind the camera. When asked if she envisions continuing as a director, Johansson responded, “I don’t know. I’m not sure. I guess we’ll see.”

Johansson emphasized that her primary focus is on creating projects that resonate with audiences.

“My intention is to work on projects I would go and see, whether they’re like Jurassic World or this film,” she explained. She also highlighted the importance of commercial appeal, stating that she considers whether a project will engage viewers and hold general interest.

Despite exploring directing, Johansson made it clear that she has no plans to step away from acting anytime soon. “I’m certainly still an actor for hire — I want that to be widely printed,” she affirmed.

Reflecting on the emotional impact of her directorial work, Johansson said, “Making something that is moving is so gratifying. If you can be in the theatre and I make you cry, that’s the most gratifying thing beyond whatever else comes out of it.”

Scarlett Johansson’s candid reflections reveal her thoughtful approach to balancing acting and directing, focusing on meaningful storytelling and audience connection as she navigates the next phase of her career.
