Sara Burack, a prominent real estate agent and star of
Netflix’s “Million Dollar Beach House,” died at age 40 after a tragic
hit-and-run in Hampton Bays, New York. The incident occurred early Thursday
morning when Southampton Town Police responded to a 911 call reporting a woman
lying on Montauk Highway.
Officers found Burack unconscious with severe
injuries, believed to have been caused by a vehicle that fled the scene. She
was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she was pronounced
dead.
Authorities launched an immediate manhunt for the driver
involved. By Friday, Amanda Kempton, a 32-year-old woman from Virginia, was
arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, a
class D felony punishable by up to four years in prison. Details about the vehicle
remain undisclosed as the investigation continues.
Burack was widely recognized for her role on “Million Dollar
Beach House,” a Netflix reality series that aired for one season in 2020 and
showcased real estate agents competing to sell luxury properties in the
Hamptons.
Before her television appearance, Burack built a successful career
with Nest Seekers International, specializing in high-end real estate in
Manhattan and the Hamptons. She had worked with the firm for over a decade
before departing more than a year ago.
In interviews, Burack described her path to real estate as a
natural progression, inspired by years spent managing summer properties and her
family’s commercial construction business. She expressed a deep passion for the
Hamptons, where she spent part of each year for more than a decade, turning her
love for the area into a flourishing career.
The real estate community and fans of the show are mourning
the loss of Burack, remembered for her expertise, drive, and vibrant presence
both on and off screen. As the investigation continues, colleagues and viewers
alike reflect on her significant contributions to luxury real estate and the
indelible mark she left on the industry.
